Aniimo Beginner Guide

Aniimo front-loads its teaching into 22 short practice rooms and a stream of one-time prompts, then never repeats itself. Pay attention during these early rooms — they cover mechanics the game never explains again.

After the tutorial, you must defeat the Turbo boss and start the Chasing the Clouds main story quest. This unlocks code redemption and the open world. It takes roughly one hour of playtime.

Choose your starter (Helion or Lunara) carefully — both are Light-type DPS, but Helion is melee and aggressive while Lunara is ranged and safe. See the full comparison on the Starters page.

The core loop is: explore the world → find wild Aniimo → weaken them in battle → catch with Aniipods → evolve and build your team. Aniipods are limited early on, so do not waste them on random catches — save them for creatures you plan to use long-term.

Aniipod Pro has a higher catch rate than standard Aniipods. Use Pro on rare or evolved creatures, and save regular Aniipods for common catches you need for dex completion.

Sparkling (shiny) Aniimo exist in the wild and have a low encounter rate. They are cosmetic variants with no stat advantage, but are highly prized by collectors.

Aniimo has 9 element types: Fire, Water, Grass, Lightning, Ice, Earth, Wind, Light, and Dark. Super-effective moves deal ×1.6 damage, while resisted moves deal ×0.625. Type advantage is the single biggest factor in winning fights.

Build a team that covers 4–5 offensive types for general exploration. Fire, Water, Grass, and Lightning cover the most common enemies. Check the full Element Chart for all matchups.

Dark is the only element super-effective against three types (Grass, Lightning, Light), making Dark creatures extremely versatile. Light has the fewest creatures (only 2) but both starters are strong.

Once you unlock code redemption (after the tutorial), redeem all active codes right away. Codes give free Glimmer, Credits, Growth Flowers, and Aniipods — resources that accelerate your early progression significantly.

After the first hour, focus on completing main story quests to unlock new zones and features. Each zone introduces new creature spawns, element types, and resources. The interactive map on AniiDex tracks over 3,000 points of interest including chests, Aniipod locations, and eggs.

Evolution is the primary power spike. Most creatures evolve at specific levels or with specific items. The evolution paths page on the wiki covers all 92+ creatures and their requirements.

Prismana is the rarest creature in the game — a Lightning-type that adapts to enemy weaknesses. It only appears during weekly Prismana Flow events. If you encounter one, use your best Aniipod Pro.

Endgame content includes Sanctums (element-themed dungeons), Holo-Battle Interlink (roguelike survival mode with scaling waves), Legendary encounters (crafted Aniipod guarantees a catch), and Egg Heist (PvEvP matchmaking for rare eggs).

Egg Heist gives unique evolution materials unavailable elsewhere. It is worth doing even if underleveled — team up with stronger players through matchmaking.
